On February 25, the presidential and National Assembly elections were conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Nigeria.
The elections were not without fault and several parties have rejected the results of the elections and are ready to go to court.
Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Kogi Central senatorial poll also falls under this category.
Akpoti-Uduaghan has rejected the outcome of the election.
She wrote a petition on March 1, 2023, and addressed it to INEC chairman Mahmood Yakubu.
In the petition, the PDP candidate asked the electoral umpire to review the results of the senatorial district election.
How The Election Was Rigged
INEC had earlier declared Abubakar Sadiku-Ohere of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the election.
However, the PDP candidate alleged that thugs manipulated the process, doctored figures, canceled polling units where she won, and invaded many polling units.

She also claims that thugs in Okene council chased away voters and snatched ballot boxes, and went to thumbprint on them in a private residence.
Ms. Akpoti-Uduaghan claims the results were manipulated in collaboration with electoral officials.
INEC incorrectly entered voting figures during the election, awarding votes intended for the PDP to the APC, says the PDP candidate.
“In the said election, Engr Abubakar Sadiku Ohere, the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), was wrongly returned with 52,132 votes and declared the winner of the election in the senatorial district while our client was wrongly credited with 51,763 votes,” the petition states.
The petition notes that she would have won the election if the total votes had been accurately recorded and uploaded.
