President Bola Tinubu has stated that his administration will establish agricultural hubs across the country in order to improve production and engage in value-added processing.

Tinubu made the announcement during his inaugural address at the Eagle Square in Abuja on Monday.

He said: “Rural income will be secured by commodity exchange boards, which will guarantee minimum prices for certain crops and animal products.

“A nationwide programme for storage and other facilities will be implemented to reduce spoilage and waste.

“Agricultural hubs will be established across the country to boost production and engage in value-added processing”.

Furthermore, Tinubu stated that the cattle sector will be exposed to best current practices.

According to him, steps will be taken to reduce the sector’s perennial dispute over land and water resources.

He went on to say that by taking these steps, food would become more plentiful while also becoming less expensive, producers would make more while the typical Nigerian would spend less.
