The controversy that trailed the sudden and tragic demise of late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, died a natural death despite promises by the police and government that justice would prevail.
As we speak, many people have already forgotten about this incident which almost tore the country apart.
Indeed, Nigerians were willing to go all out with their demand for justice.
As protest preparations echoed from many parts of the country, that was when the police decided to intervene.
The force vowed to get to the root of the matter and unravel the mysteries surrounding Mohbad’s death.
To show seriousness, some arrest were made, and the late singer’s body exhumed for an autopsy.
“Let’s wait for the autopsy result,” many people suggested.
Hopes of justice grew even high when a coroner court in Ikorodu started investigation.
A private autopsy and toxicology analysis carried out by the family of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has been completed.
In June 2024, the Coroner’s Court located in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State granted the family authorization to carry out an independent autopsy and toxicology examination on Mohbad.

The family sought this independent investigation due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.
The First Autopsy
This court ruling followed the earlier autopsy conducted by the Lagos State Government, which was deemed inconclusive and subsequently rejected by the family.
Sources within the family told journalists on Thursday that the results have been available since December.
“The private autopsy has been concluded and the result is currently with the forensic pathologist contracted by the family. The result was ready since December and the pathologist is waiting to present it in court,” a relative reportedly disclosed.
This latest development has sparked fresh controversy on social media as Nigerians air their views.
While many claim confusion, others have blasted the police for their failure to deliver the justice which to them Mohbad and his family deserves.
