Liverpool reportedly rejected a major bid from a Saudi club last summer, as they wanted to keep their star winger.

However, it is now expected that a move for Salah could be on, and Liverpool bosses have identified the Brentford star as their target for the summer according to the Express.

The 24-year-old winger had a strong start to the 2023–24 season with seven goals and three assists in 15 appearances until sustaining an ankle injury in the first few days of December.

The previous season, he had nine goals and eight assists in 38 league games. With his cutting edge in the final third and his speed and strength, Mbeumo can pose a threat to defences whenever he gets a chance.

The good news for the Merseyside club is that they could pounce on Mbeumo in the summer for a cut price if Brentford fail to avoid relegation this season.

The Bees currently stand just five points from relegation with Luton Town having a game in hand over them.

Mbeumo’s deal may stand solely on the decision that Salah makes in the summer, however, Liverpool may be tempted to go for the Cameroonian if Brentford do get relegated this summer.
