DAILY POST had reported that Man United are interested in signing the Uruguay international.

Cavani has started just four games in Ligue 1 this season for PSG, having lost his place to Mauro Icardi who is on loan from Inter Milan.

His current contract with the Parisians is set to expire at the end of the season, when he will be available on a free transfer.

According to the Manchester Evening News, PSG are willing to offer Cavani to the Red Devils in the summer, with sources close to the 32-year-old reportedly seeing Old Trafford as a “possible destination” for the former Napoli star.

Speaking on Cavani’s future, PSG manager, Thomas Tuchel said last week: “It has been difficult for Edinson after picking up an injury.

“If there can be departures and arrivals in the group? It’s still possible in football, I can’t say.

“Cavani? We have to ask Edi the question. He is injured right now. He felt something in training and he couldn’t be there [against Monaco].

“If I want him to stay? It’s better, to achieve our goals, to have him, yes.”

PDP must apologise to Nigerians – Keyamo

[ad_1]

The Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Mr Festus Keyamo, has described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a very unserious opposition.

Advertisements

Keyamo said this while condemning the PDP’s reaction to the judgement of the Supreme Court which removed Mr Emeka Ihedioha as the governor of Imo State.

The minister during an interview with reporters on Wednesday while attending an event in Ughelli, Delta State described the PDP as “ an opposition that is a very unserious opposition; an opposition that is not ready to take but they are ready to give.”

We recalls that PDP a statement by its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan rejected the judgement and queried how Uzodinma who came fourth could be declared as the winner of the election.

Keyamo urged the members of the opposition party to apologise to Nigerians, adding that their reaction was not only objective but ‘extremely provocative’

Advertisements

“PDP is an opposition that takes the benefit from the system; from a particular institution and they don’t want to take the downs from that same institution.

“The same court that gave them victories and excluded us entirely in Rivers State, excluded us entirely in Zamfara State; is that the same kangaroo court?

“How can democrats come out and make such very inciting statement? I think it is an irresponsible statement.

“It doesn’t even deserve a response and they need to apologise to Nigerians and to the Supreme Court; it’s extremely provocative,” Keyamo added.

The statement reads: “It is necessary to state that negotiations between Benue State Government and labour unions on implementation of the N30,000 minimum wage have not yet been concluded.

“The member of the State Government Committee on the New Minimum Wage who posted on social media that the negotiations were concluded and approval given did so in haste and error, and has since been told to retract the report.

“We wonder why the committee member rushed to the media with the report when we and labour leaders were still meeting to agree on the new minimum wage for workers of the state.

“Our administration has presented its proposal and labour leaders have given assurance that they would study the proposal and get back to government.

“We call for patience as negotiations on the new minimum wage will soon be concluded in the best interest of all Benue people.”
