The Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, governorship primary election in Ondo state, Governor Yahaya Bello on Sunday, denied the request of six governorship aspirants calling for the postponement of the state primary election.
The ruling party had earlier fixed the primary for July 20, 2020
However, Bello during a meeting with the aspirants told them that he does not have the power to postpone the governorship primary.
No fewer than out the twelve governorship aspirants attended the meeting held at a popular hotel at ijapo, Akure, Ondo State.
The six aspirants who wanted the election postponed hinged their reason on the fact that they have not been given the list of delegates that will participate in the primaries as at last night.
They jointly stated that holding the primaries on Monday is an injustice of the highest order.

They wondered why the delegates list has not been presented to the aspirants few hours to the election.
The aspirants include Hon Isaacs Kekemeke, Sola Iji, Olayide Adelami, Bukola Adetola, Olusola Oke and Jumoke Anifowose.
Meanwhile, while responding to their request, Bello told the aspirants that his duty is to conduct a credible primary election.
“I don’t have the power to postpone Monday’s primaries. We will go ahead with the exercise.
“There is no perfect election anywhere even in advanced countries like the United States of America,” Bello added
