Justin Timberlake’s case for driving while impaired,came to a close on Friday, September 13, 2024, in a courtroom that had been waiting for his plea.
The pop star faced charges related to impaired driving but ultimately pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of driving while ability impaired.
As Timberlake stood before the court, he took a moment to reflect on his actions, expressing sincere regret.
He admitted that he had fallen short of the “highest standard” he always sets for himself. His voice was filled with remorse as he acknowledged the gravity of his mistake.
Justice Carl Irace, who presided over the case, probed Timberlake’s decision to drive rather than opt for a taxi or rideshare service.
Timberlake, realizing the lapse in his judgment, conceded that he should have made a better choice.
In accordance with the plea deal, Timberlake received his sentence: a $500 fine accompanied by a $260 surcharge.
He was also ordered to complete 25 hours of community service and face a 90-day suspension of his driver’s license.
Additionally, he will be required to participate in a public service announcement to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving.
