The First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari has withdrawn the defamation suit she filed against Aminu Adamu Mohammed, a final year student of Jigawa state Federal University, Dutse.

Recall that the student had been arrested by the Department of State Service (DSS) on charges of defamation.
The student was remanded at Niger State Correctional centre in Suleja for tweeting that the First Lady was feeding fat on the poor people’s money.
On Friday, the prosecution counsel, Fidelis Ogbobe, said the First Lady had decided to withdraw the case due to the intervention of well-meaning Nigerians.
Ogbode relied on Section 108 subsection 2(a) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act to move the application for the withdrawal of the case.
Justice Halilu Yusuf of the FCT High Court while ruling on the matter, praised Aisha for her bold step to forgive the accused.
The judge, while issuing the release warrant of Aminu called on parents to monitor their children to avoid recurrence of the situation.
