Jonathan Majors‘ sentencing has been delayed until April 8 after his defense team filed a motion to set aside the verdict.
The ’Creed III’ actor was convicted in December of reckless assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and harassment in the second degree, which is a violation.
The convictions carry a potential sentence of up to one year in prison.
The sentencing was initially set to take place Tuesday, February 6, 2024. Majors appeared virtually for the hearing, the prosecutors have asked for more time to respond to the motion by the defense, which was filed on Monday, February 5, 2024.
The incidents leading to the actor’s conviction happened on March 25, when Majors and his ex-partner, Grace Jabbari, struggled over his phone in a car.
Jabbari said she saw a message on his the phone that made her think he was cheating. She took his phone, and Majors hurt her while trying to take it back.
He grabbed her finger, hit her head, and threw her back into the car.
