The peace in Nollywood, and by extension, a large part of the country, was shattered on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, when a popular actor, Pope Odonwodo, known as Junior Pope, and three others were confirmed dead.
They met their demise when the boat they were traveling in after returning from a movie set capsized in the river in Asaba, Delta State.
Following this heartbreaking incident, online discussions buzzed about where to lay Junior Pope to rest.
Some argued for a burial by the riverside, in line with tradition, while others suggested alternative arrangements.
As of Friday, April 12, 2024, they had moved his body to Enugu after performing rituals to appease the river goddess.
