American rapper Lil Wayne has expressed deep disappointment over not being chosen as the headliner for the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show.
In a heartfelt video message that circulated online on Friday, Lil Wayne revealed how not being selected for performance left him emotionally shattered.
He admitted that he had envisioned the opportunity as a pinnacle moment in his career
Also, he said it was a dream that would have been an incredible honor.
Lil Wayne’s comments came after fans, including fellow rapper Nicki Minaj, criticized Jay-Z.
Also, Jay-Z was responsible for selecting the 2025 halftime performer.
However, he chooses Kendrick Lamar instead.
Lil Wayne reflected on the experience more personally.
Also, he takes responsibility for not being mentally prepared for such a letdown.
“That hurt a lot,” he said.
Also, he added that he had built up the hope of performing on such a prestigious stage in his city.

Wayne added: “I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown.
I thought there was nothing better than that stage in my city… It broke me and I’m just trying to put me back together.”
