England captain Harry Kane is set to receive a special golden cap ahead of his 100th appearance for the national team.
Kane, who plays for Bayern Munich, will become the tenth player to achieve this milestone for England.
Kane has had a remarkable international career, scoring 66 goals and captaining England 72 times.
He made his debut in 2015 against Lithuania, scoring within 80 seconds of stepping off the bench.
The 30-year-old is now set to face Finland, his 45th different opponent, and becomes the first player to reach 100 caps since Wayne Rooney in 2014.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently scored his 901st career goal, has inspired Kane’s dedication and passion for the game.
Kane referenced Ronaldo’s ability to compete at the highest level well into his 30s, saying:
“Ronaldo scoring his 901st goal at 39 inspires me to keep playing as long as possible. I love this game and representing England, and I don’t want it to end soon.”
