Cody Gakpo says he is delighted with how life at Liverpool under Arne Slot has gone so far.
Liverpool’s new era under Arne Slot got off to a positive start after the Reds beat Ipswich 2-0 in the Premier League last week.
Gakpo is keen to thrive under the guidance of his compatriot and admitted the former Feyenoord boss has already won the Merseyside fans and players over.
Gakpo even gave a detailed response on how Slot differs from former manager Jurgen Klopp, who ended his Liverpool tenure this summer.
Slot promised a different style of football to what the German offered during his nine-year stay at Anfield and there has been an instant impact under the new management.
Speaking to Via Play through Sport Nieuws, Gakpo said: “A lot has changed compared to Klopp, but he makes a very good impression.
“It is not necessarily better or worse, but it has mainly changed.
“Last season it was more from the counter, but that is only advantageous.
“We will soon have mastered both systems.
“That can take us far.
“He (Slot) is just very honest and direct, which is beneficial to players.
“Then you always know where you stand.
“The matches in the preparation were good right away and we also won that first match against Ipswich.
“Then you immediately have plus points within the club and you’re already in.
“If it continues like this, we can have a great year.”
