The constant Fuel price hike in Nigeria has become an issue of great concern.
Nigerians are been forced to bear the brunt of not only harsh economic conditions but also inflation in prices of goods and services caused by the rise in price of PMS.
In reaction to this, Peter Obi addressed the ongoing debate about the removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria.
In an interview with News Central, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate emphasized the need for transparency in government figures.
Furthermore, Peter argued that if subsidy has truly been removed, the government should clearly outline the projects where the savings are being redirected, allowing for accountability and tracking.
Also, Obi also pointed out that despite the removal of subsidy, the country’s debt continues to rise alongside the cost of living, raising concerns about the overall impact on citizens.
In addition, he advocated for the preservation of democracy in Nigeria, stressing the importance of biometric systems and greater scrutiny in Nigeria’s borrowing and spending.
