Sean “Diddy” Combs has issued an apology for physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel in 2016.

He posted a video on Instagram taking responsibility for his actions. “I was really messed up and I did something terrible.”

Diddy says. “I hit rock bottom and I’m disgusted with myself. I went to therapy and rehab to get help.”

“I’m truly sorry and I’m working to be a better man every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness, I just want to make things right.”

The video from 2016, released last week, shows Diddy shoving Cassie to the ground, kicking her, and dragging her down a hallway.

Cassie has not commented on the video or Diddy’s apology. The Los Angeles county district attorney’s office has however ruled out prosecuting the disgraced music mogul on account of the video declaring that the timeline for the prosecution of a case of assault had lapsed.

50 Cent, a known Diddy critic, has also posited that the release of the video at this time was intended to embarrass Diddy rather than for any prosecutorial purpose.
