Students in Hong Kong have embarked on a protest against the dictatorship, calling for President Xi Jinping’s resignation.
The protest which is mainly focused on the COVID-19 rules put in place by the Chinese government had the students chanting “oppose dictatorship”.
China had put strict anti-virus measures in place to curb the spread of COVID-19, but the people think the measures are too extreme and have resolved to rally.

In response to the rallies, the government eased some of the regulations but the public does not seem satisfied as it seems the government has no plans of backing down on its larger coronavirus strategy.
The presence of police officers has prevented protests from taking place in places like Beijing or Shanghai, but that did not stop the students at the Chinese University of Hong Kong from lighting candles to support those in cities who are suffering from the restrictions.
To avoid being recognized, the students covered their faces while they chanted, “No PCR tests but freedom” and “Oppose dictatorship, don’t be slaves!”
Security guards of the university videotaped the protests but there was no sign of the police at the scene of the protest.
