Atiku Abubakar, PDP Presidential CandidateThe Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has postponed the prehearing of the election petition filed by the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar and his party.
On Saturday afternoon, Justice Haruna Tsammani, while leading a five-man panel, adjourned Atiku’s prehearing to Monday, May 22.
Tsammani directed that all parties involved in the petition should consult the court ahead of the new date.

Atiku told the court during the proceeding that he was readying up to 100 witnesses to prove his case and convince the court that he won the February 25 presidential election.
The former vice president told the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal that it would take him three weeks to present his witnesses.

Atiku, who filed his petition, with the PDP in a joint petition marked CA/PEPC/05/2023 is demanding that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to Tinubu and declare him [Abubakar] winner.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress, APC, said it was also preparing 39 witnesses to make their case.
