‘Tinubu Must Not Be Sworn In’

A few days ago, Uja was forcefully removed from an Ibom Air flight by some security agents over unruly behaviour before the take-off.

The incident happened last week Friday in the evening.

A video of him was shared, with Uja shouting inside the airplane that on no account should the President-elect, Bola Tinubu be sworn in as Nigerian leader.

His strange behaviour attracted the attention of other passengers and flight attendants who called in some security personnel and they forcibly removed him from the plane.

The Legal Battle

Uja’s lawyer, Ejike Ugwu, in an interview says he was hurriedly charged after he was admitted to the Muhammadu Buhari Police Hospital.

Sadly, the hospital did not have a psychiatrist doctor, and psychologist to examine him.

Ugwu, however, said a doctor was invited from National Hospital, Abuja to examine his client but the efforts unfortunately were futile.

“He was arraigned at the Zuba Magistrates’ Court after they deceived us; because yesterday he was taken to Muhammadu Buhari Police Hospital, Area 11 Abuja.

“While we were there, it was around 3:00pm they told us that they wanted to arraign him in Zuba Magistrates’ Court.

Police Interest

“We reminded the court that the same police invited the doctor to examine him, and the same police instead of waiting for the doctors to examine him hurriedly charged him.

“Even with the test we did, we spent almost 40,000 Naira at the Police clinic, all the tests they conducted we abandoned all of them; they have not prescribed any medicine,” the lawyer explained.

Also, he expressed concerns about the personal interest of the police in the matter.

“The way the police are handling it is as if they have an interest in the matter because you took somebody to a police clinic, you are coming to court to tell the court you want the person to be remanded in prison because you want to continue the investigation.
