A television adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s iconic novel; Things Fall Apart is currently in development at A24 Studios.
American actor Idris Elba is set to star and serve as an executive producer.
Also, the project will be produced in collaboration with fellow British-Nigerian actor David Oyelowo.
According to an exclusive report by Variety Magazine, Idris Elba and David Oyelowo are joining forces to bring Achebe’s powerful narrative to life.
However, Things Fall Apart, originally published in 1958, is widely regarded as the most studied, translated, and read African novel.
The book has been translated into more than 60 languages and has earned prestigious accolades.
This adaptation will mark the first time Achebe’s masterpiece is brought to television.
Although no writer has been attached to the project yet, a stellar production team has already been assembled.
Idris Elba will executive produce through his production company, 22Summers, alongside Gina Carter.

David Oyelowo and Amanda N’Duka will also executive produce under their Yoruba Saxon production banner.
Additional executive producers include Ben Forkner, Dayo Ogunyemi, and the Achebe Masterworks team, with A24 Studios overseeing the entire project.
