Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is still receiving congratulatory messages from leaders around the world.
He was declared the winner of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.
Mr. Tinubu has been presented with his certificate of Return. Ever since that time, congratulatory messages from around the world are trooping in.
Since he was declared president-elect, the governments of Denmark, Ukraine, India, Ghana, the United States, and the United Kingdom have sent congratulatory messages to Tinubu.
Chinese President XI Jinping has also congratulated the president-elect in a statement by the Chinese Embassy to Nigeria.
China Is Ready To Work With Tinubu
In the statement, President Xi was quoted as saying he had a high regard for the development of China-Nigeria relations.
The statement reveals that China “stands ready to work with Tinubu to take the strategic partnership between the two countries to new heights”.
“Nigeria is an important strategic partner of China in Africa, he says.
XI Jinping says the development of bilateral relations has enjoyed a sound momentum in recent years, with practical cooperation in various fields yielding fruitful results.

“The two countries have supported each other on issues relating to their core interests and major concerns, and have closely coordinated in international and regional affairs,” President Xi said.
Legal Battle Ahead
Although, Mr. Tinubu has been presented with the Certificate of Return, his oppositions are yet to give up.
Opposition Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar are ready to present their case before the election tribunal.
An appeal court has granted them access to the election materials used to allow them to gather enough evidence for their case.
