Beijing -a city with over 21 million people- has had some parts on lockdown, shops and schools have been closed, and about three million people have been urged to stay at home.

China attributes the low number of deaths from coronavirus to the zero-Covid policy but reports have shown that the quarantine facilities have delayed emergency treatments for people locked in it.

Officials have issued a warning that the country’s capital is facing its most severe situation since the start of the pandemic in 2020.
