Chelsea Football club has been named as having the most expensively assembled team in world football.
Chelsea’s squad cost £1.06 billion to put together, followed closely by Manchester United with £874 million. Manchester City ranks third with £856 million.
The top five is completed by Arsenal and Tottenham, with squads valued at £672 million and £663 million respectively.
Paris Saint-Germain’s squad is worth £650 million, narrowly ahead of Liverpool and Real Madrid, who have spent approximately £619 million and £606 million respectively.
Al-Hilal, Saudi Arabian club, has the most expensive squad outside of Europe’s top five leagues, with a valuation of £420 million.
19 countries are represented in the top 100, with England having the most teams listed (24). Championship side Middlesbrough ranks 100th with a squad value of £54 million.
