Chelsea have reportedly submitted a bid for Boca Juniors defender, Aaron Anselmino, as Enzo Maresca wants to restructure the defence.
In the last few days, rumours in Argentina have stated that Boca Juniors have received an offer from Chelsea for the services of Anselmino, the bid is reportedly worth $17 million (£13.4 million) as per Argentine journalist Uriel Iugt.
Following Thiago Silva’s departure and the Blues’ disappointing 2023/24 season, Maresca is aiming to reorganise the team for a better start to the 2024/25 campaign.
The 19-year-old made his first-team debut a year ago, having come up through Boca’s academy.
Anselmino has only made 10 senior appearances for Boca in his career thus far due to hamstring injuries that he sustained since making his debut.
He has also received praise from Boca Juniors president and Argentina legend Juan Roman Riquelme.
Speaking to the media, Riquelme said [via Metro UK]: “He has developed a lot.
“With the growth, the head that he has and the desire to learn that he shows, he is on his way to being a great footballer.
“He is going to be a player for the national team.
“He is going to compete with the centre-backs.”
