Canadian Embassy Building Gutted In Fire In Abuja

Someone somewhere in Nigeria will surely be praying fervently for the visa document submitted with the Canadian embassy to be safe.

This is because the Canadian embassy was thrown into a state of chaos on Monday, as people who were at work, began a rat race to save their belongings.

In recent time, one of the locations that Nigerians have moved to in the ‘japa wave’ is Canada.

Now, some parts of the building of the High Commission of Canada in Nigeria, situated at 13010G, Palm Close, Diplomatic Drive, Central Business District in Abuja have reportedly caught fire.

Reports have it that, the no one could tell the cause of the fire.

However, images circulating online showed billows of smoke coming from the building.

The fire was said to have started around 11:30 a.m. on Monday.

At the time, the fire was said to have started, and employees and their cars were observed being evacuated from the premises.

The High Commission provides visa and immigration services for those seeking to visit or emigrate to Canada.

Also, it offers services to Canadians visiting and living in Nigeria and to Canadians in Equatorial Guinea, and Sao Tome and Principe.
