Real Madrid captain and striker Karim Benzema was officially announced as the winner of the 2022 Ballon dór
The French player beat Sadio Mane, Robert Leandowski, Kevin De Bruyne and a host of other professional football players to clinch one of the worlds most coveted personal trophies.
Benzema led Real Madrid to champions league glory in the 2021/2022 season, dishing out spectacular performances time and time again.
The event was held at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, where Gavi won the 2022 Kopa Trophy and Alexia Putellas won the women’s Ballon d’Or, but Benzema was the icing on cake.
