Bobrisky In Jail: 3 Life Lessons To Learn From His Situation

Life comes with its many uncertainties. Today, you’re rich, the next day, you’re trying so hard to afford three square meals daily.

One moment, you’re a free bird, the next, you are behind bars for something you didn’t even know is a crime.

The latter is the case of controversial influencer and cross dresser, Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky.

Bobrisky was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for Naira Abuse.

He was sentenced to six months in prison after he pleaded guilty in court.

Although, the cross dresser said he was not aware that the abuse of Naira was a punishable offense, the law took its full course as ignorance is no excuse in law.

Bobrisky’s arrest is one that led to a big outburst amongst Nigerians especially on social media.

Many felt he was “unjustly punished” for a crime committed by many Nigerians while others are of the belief that, the government took a step in the right direction by enforcing the law.

While there are many angles to Bobrisky’s case, there are also three life’s lessons to learn from him.

Build Quality Relationships

From the court proceedings, it was obvious that majority of Bobrisky’s fans and supporters from social media were not with him in real life.

It appeared as though Bob only invested in his online brand than he did offline.

The lesson here are:

When life hits hard, you will need human relationships beyond social media followers alone.

Don’t wait till then before building quality relationships.

Bridle Your Tongue

Despite being a Nigerian and African, Bobrisky is known for saying things against his culture.

A man calling himself “mummy of Lagos” is something Nigerians will most likely frown at.

Indeed, there is freedom of choice and expression but while at it, be sure you’re in a place where it will be accepted.

Keep It Off Social Media

Bobrisky is in prison today because he couldn’t keep his extravagant lifestyle off social media.

He was always showing off to give the impression of how classy he is.

This in turn has caused him the one thing he enjoyed the most – his freedom.
