The presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic has urged voters in Anambra state to vote for him if they want an Igbo president.
He believes that he is the stepping stone to Nigeria having an Igbo president and promised to bring that dream to reality if he is elected.
“I am going to be a stepping stone to an Igbo president in this country. I have shown it in my action because this is the third time I am running with an Igbo man. If you really want to produce a president, then vote Atiku-Okowa ticket,” the former vice president told the gathering.

“I want to thank you, the people of Anambra State, for this warm reception I never thought I will see such a crowd in Anambra State, and believe me, we are not going to forget you, we are going to reward you handsomely,” he added
The current presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, who was Atiku’s running mate in 2019, is an Igbo from Anambra State.
They ran against President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019 but lost.
Obi accused the PDP of having a rigged system and proceeded to decamp to the Labour Party in May 2022 ahead of the PDP primary elections.
Atiku went ahead to pick another Igbo running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa.
