Arsenal’s Riccardo Calafiori picked up a knee injury, and Mikel Arteta has provided an update on his availability for the Paris Saint-Germain match.
Calafiori has started all three of Arsenal’s recent games in all competitions, including clashes against Manchester City and Leicester City.
The Italian appeared to jar his knee during the Foxes’ visit on Saturday after an aerial battle with Odsonne Edouard, and he appeared to be in pain after the match as well.
Arteta has had a few injury concerns since the start of the season in defence, one of them being Ben White, who has missed Arsenal’s last two matches against Bolton and Leicester City due to a groin problem.
However, the Basque coach has now provided an update on the availability of both defenders ahead of Arsenal’s pivotal Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking to the media, Arteta said: “Those are the two players (Calafiori and White) that are in contention (for the PSG match) and we have to review today.
“We didn’t do any training session yesterday.
When specifically asked about Calafiori, Arteta said: “He was a bit emotional after the game.
“Let’s see how he is today.”
