Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman won in Kwara state with 273,424 votes on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman won the election to retain the governorship seat of Kwara State.
After collation, he polled 273,424 votes to beat his closest rival, Yaman Abdullahi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 155,490 votes in the election.
The returning officer for the state governorship election, Professor Isaac Itodo, declared AbdulRazaq the winner of the election, having scored majority votes in the election.
AbdulRazaq won in all 16 local government councils in the state.
He won in Ilorin South, Ilorin West, Ilorin East, Offa, Oyun, Ifelodun, Irepodun, Oke-Ero, Ekiti, Patigi, Edu, Kaiama, and Baruten local governments.
Earlier Tries At The Seat
Governor AbdulRazaq contested unsuccessfully for the governor of Kwara State in 2003, 2007, and 2011 respectively.

He contested on the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and was successively defeated by Abubakar Bukola Saraki in 2003 and 2007.
In 2011, he lost in the governorship polls against Abdulfatah Ahmed.
However, in 2019, he contested again under the APC and emerged as the winner of the Kwara state gubernatorial election.
Now, he has once again won for another four-year term in the state.
