Both teams put in flat performances.

Something that was mirrored by the home fans failing to live up to their reputation for generating intimidating atmospheres.

When asked by reporters at full-time about the often-intimidating atmosphere at Anfield, Onana said: “I felt nothing”.

“The atmosphere was the worst I’ve seen at Anfield, ever,” he said.

The draw saw Liverpool fail to take back top spot in the table from Arsenal, who beat Brighton 2-0 earlier on Sunday.
