The Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) has an opportunity for you.
The commission has commenced recruitment of Adhoc staff ahead of the state’s September 28 local government election.
The commission announced the recruitment process in a statement signed and issued on Wednesday by the Chief Electoral Officer of the state, Genevieve Osakwe.
The statement read: “ANSIEC invites applications from interested eligible citizens of Anambra State for consideration and recruitment as Ad-hoc Staff to serve in various capacities in the forthcoming Local Government Council Election.
Eligibility
“Eligible candidates could be retired and serving as public officers of the federal and state governments, academic and non-academic staff of tertiary institutions, degree or HND holders, and OND holders or minimum of secondary school certificate holders.
“The application must be accompanied by two recent passport-size photographs and bio-data, stating the name, age, gender, address of current employment status or last place of employment, three references, one of which must be from present employment and letter of introduction from the Traditional Ruler/President General of their communities, among others, should be addressed to ‘The Chairman, Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission.”
Furthermore, the State Electoral Commission has outlined the available positions.

The positions available include Local Government Returning Officers, Ward Collation Officers, Supervisory Presiding Officers, Presiding Officers, Poll Clerks, and Poll Orderlies.
However, Osakwe revealed that applications for the roles of Local Government Returning Officers, Ward Collation Officers, Supervisory Presiding Officers, and Presiding Officers should be directed to ANSIEC at its Headquarters in Awka.
In contrast, applications for Poll Clerks and Poll Orderlies are to be submitted at the ANSIEC Local Government offices across all 21 Local Government Areas.
The application submission deadline is set for August 25, 2024.
