Ruben Amorim equalled Sir Alex Ferguson and Matt Busby’s record with Manchester United’s win over Viktoria Plzen in Europa League.
United came back quickly after Andre Onana gifted Viktoria Plzen the opener as Rasmus Hojlund’s brace helped them pick all three points in the Europa League on Thursday.
This was the club’s second consecutive win in the Europa League since Amorim took charge at Old Trafford and it put the Portuguese coach in the same bracket as legendary Red Devils bosses Ferguson and Busby, who both won their first two European games in charge.
It was a much-needed win for the English giants who headed into the game on the back of consecutive losses against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
In the Amorim era, United have now won and lost two matches each and drawn once.
The win over the Czech club has also helped the English giants to club up to the seventh position in the Europa League table.
However, they are now well-poised to qualify for the round of 16 stage of the competition.
