Reports of the President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) in Akwa Ibom State University, Comrade Abasifreke Benson, appointing thirty personal aides to support his administration is whipping up reactions.
While many find it amusing, others hailed Abasifreke with claims that the move is an indication of his readiness to serve.
“Imagine if he was a councilor or a Local Government Chairman,” a Nigerian exclaimed.
The Appointment
The appointments were contained in a statement signed by the SUG President himself.
According to him, the individuals were appointed after proper investigation and security checks as well as a confirmation of their zeal towards the union’s growth and development.
The statement added that the appointments were made for the effective and smooth running of the SUG President’s administration.
