Bukky Wright has shared a deeply personal account of her marriage, her separation from her children, and the unexpected path that led her into acting during a recent panel session.
Marriage Into A Wealthy Family
First, she explained that her life changed significantly after she married into a wealthy family.
She said her in-laws took her children away when they were still very young because they doubted her prospects and believed she would not achieve much in life.

As a result, Wright made a difficult but intentional decision.
Instead of withdrawing from public life, she chose to turn to acting.

Importantly, she did not pursue fame or recognition at that time; rather, she used acting as a way to remain visible and to create a future point of connection for her children.
Acting As A Lifeline
Meanwhile, she emphasised that she never initially planned to become a public figure.
However, she used acting as both an emotional anchor and a practical response to her circumstances during that period.
“I never even thought of becoming a star,” she said.
“My children were taken away from me when they were young because I married into a very wealthy family, and they did not believe I would amount to anything in life.
I started acting so that when my children grow up, they would at least know where to find me.”
