The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of applications for its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply.

In a statement issued on Tuesday via its official 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account, the Army disclosed that the recruitment exercise is open to both civilians and serving military personnel who meet the required qualifications.

According to the announcement, candidates who are successful in the selection process will be commissioned into various specialist corps of the Nigerian Army, where their professional skills will be deployed to strengthen national security and defense operations.

The Application Process

The Army emphasised that the application process is completely free and can only be completed online. The recruitment portal will be accessible from January 7 to February 4, 2026.

Available corps under the DSSC include the Nigerian Army Engineers, Nigerian Army Signals, Nigerian Army Medical Corps, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and the Nigerian Army Education Corps, among others.

Prospective applicants have been advised to submit their applications early and ensure all information provided is accurate and complete to avoid disqualification.
