Nollywood actress and media personality, Toke Makinwa, recently shared a remarkable story about Nigerian singer D’banj.
She revealed that he is the only man in Nigeria who has ever given her “free money” without expecting anything in return.
In a viral video featuring both Toke Makinwa and the artist, she recalled an incident where D’banj pledged ₦10 million at her book launch.
She said he followed through on his promise the very next morning sending the full amount at 8:00 a.m.
Toke Makinwa expressed her admiration for the singer’s generosity.
She noted that unlike other men, D’banj didn’t have any ulterior motives and never asked for anything in exchange for his gesture.
Also, she emphasised how rare it is to encounter such selfless acts, especially from men in Nigeria.
She explains that typically, many men tend to expect something in return, such as a date or a favor, after offering similar financial support.
