Nigerian Army Reveals Identities Of 16 Soldiers Killed In Delta

The death of 16 Nigerian Army officers and soldiers killed in Okuama community in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State has for days now left the entire country bewildered. 

Some officers of the Nigerian Army, comprising a Lieutenant Colonel, two majors, one captain, and 12 soldiers, were killed by youths while on a peace mission at Okuama community.

Till today, the entire community and its environs have not known peace.

Perhaps, they did not understand the magnitude of this crime, now they flee in large numbers to avoid being victims of the catastrophe that has since trailed the incident.

Identities Of The Slain Soldiers

Now, as the hunt continues, the Nigerian Army has released the identities of the 16 officers that lost their lives in that community.

The slain officers were attached to the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, which included the Commanding Officer of 181 Amphibious Battalion.

Furthermore, the lifeless bodies of the army officers and soldiers had been retrieved by the Nigerian Army.

The dead soldiers were responding to a distress call after a communal clash.

Basically, the clash was between the Okuama and Okoloba communities in the South-South state.

In a post via its official X handle alongside a photo collage on Monday evening, the Nigerian Army released the photos and names of the slain personnel.

“REST IN PEACE OUR FALLEN HEROES,” the Nigerian Army wrote.

Some of the victims included Lt Colonel AH Ali, (the Command Officer, 181 Amphibious Battalion, Nigerian Army).
