The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Oyosays it impounded 630 vehicles for allegedly committing various road traffic offences between January to November.

The FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Joshua Adekanye, made this known in Ibadan.

Adekanye said that most of the vehicles were impounded for offences ranging from not having driver’s licences to other valid vehicle papers.

The sector commander revealed that 4,005 offenders were also apprehended for committing various road traffic offences in the state during the period.

About 4,186 road traffic offences were also committed during the period majority of the offences included wrongful overtaking and the use of phones while driving.

Others were the use of expired tyres, lane violation, seat belt violation, and speed violation.

Adekanye called on motorists to ensure that their vehicles had the required papers before plying the road and to obey traffic rules and regulations to avoid being arrested by FRSC.
