When a man is not able to meet his daily needs and also cater for his family, a lot could go wrong. Unfortunately, the hardship in Nigeria is not helping man meet his daily responsibility, and everything seems unbearable.
One cannot begin to imagine what 35-year-old, Samaila Ilu must have been going through before deciding to end it all.
Samaila Ilu is a native of Dungun Tantama village in the Hausa local government area of Jigawa state.
He took his own life due to the hardship in the country.
The tragic incident unfolded on August 16, 2023, and has sent shockwaves through the local community.
The Tragic End
According to official reports from the police spokesperson, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, Samaila Ilu’s lifeless body was found hanging from a tree with a rope.
This indicates that he had tragically chosen to end his own life.
The police were alerted to the situation on August 17.
That was the day a report was filed regarding Samaila’s mysterious disappearance the previous day.
Shiisu disclosed that the local authorities were informed that Samaila had left his home on August 16, and had not returned.
The Report
Shiisu said: “On 17/08/2023 at about 1100hrs, police received a report that a 35-year-old man Samaila Ilu of Dungun Tantama village, Hausa local government, left his house on 16/08/2023 to an unknown destination”.
“Sadly, the search for him concluded with the grim discovery of his lifeless body.
“The body was suspended from a tree, suggesting that he had resorted to suicide.
“The devastating incident has not only left his immediate family shattered but has also cast a somber mood over the entire village.
The Autopsy
“Prompt action was taken by the police, as a team was dispatched to the scene.
“They recovered Samaila’s body and transport it to a nearby hospital for a thorough autopsy.
“This step is essential in understanding the circumstances that led to his tragic decision and to ensure a complete investigation into the incident.

“Following the autopsy, the deceased’s remains were released to his grief-stricken relatives, who are now preparing for his burial”.
