UBA Strong Revenue Growth

It increased interest income to ₦2.649 trillion, supporting steady core business operations.

However, it recorded ₦1.618 trillion in net interest income despite rising funding costs.

Profit Pressured By One-Off Costs

Meanwhile, the bank raised interest expenses to ₦1.031 trillion, which reduced margins significantly.

At the same time, it increased impairment charges to ₦331.1 billion through cautious risk provisioning.

As a result, it pushed net interest income after impairment down slightly to ₦1.289 trillion.

In addition, the bank maintained fee and commission income at ₦332.5 billion, showing limited growth.

Consequently, it reduced profit after tax to ₦404.7 billion by year end.

Notably, the bank recorded large one-off charges during the year.

It booked ₦331 billion in loan loss provisions, which impacted earnings significantly.

It also recorded ₦227 billion in fair value losses on derivatives, further reducing profitability.

Solid Balance Sheet, Growth Outlook

Looking ahead, management expects these pressures to ease in coming periods.

Already, recovery teams are pursuing affected loans across key markets aggressively.

Despite this, the bank maintained a strong balance sheet position.

It increased shareholders’ funds to ₦4.25 trillion, strengthening financial stability.

It also kept its capital adequacy ratio at 23.2%, above regulatory requirements.

Furthermore, the bank grew customer deposits to ₦27.2 trillion, supporting liquidity and lending capacity.

It expanded total assets to ₦33.2 trillion, reflecting continued balance sheet growth.

Beyond Nigeria, the bank drove strong growth across African regions.

Its foreign operations generated ₦312 billion in profit, up from ₦223 billion.

Overall, UBA enters 2026 with improved stability and clearer growth prospects.
