Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has officially announced his move to the Accord Party as his new political platform ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
The declaration was made at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Osogbo, where he received national and state leaders of the party.

In his address, Governor Adeleke disclosed that he had formally registered with the Accord Party on 6 November 2025.
Also, he noted that the decision followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders, political leaders, and opinion shapers across Osun State.
According to a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke explained that the shift to the Accord Party was already well understood within political circles in the state.
He stated that the realignment was primarily driven by the party’s philosophical commitment to welfarism.
The governor emphasised that the Accord Party’s mission aligns seamlessly with his administration’s priority on citizen and worker welfare.
“We opted for the Accord Party because its mission of welfarism aligns with our passionate focus on citizens’ and workers’ welfare,” Adeleke said.
He reaffirmed that the welfare and well-being of the people remain the essence of public leadership and the central focus of his administration’s policies and programmes.
He also revealed the Accord Party as the new political vehicle for Osun State.
Also, he urges residents across Osun West, Osun East, and Osun Central to support the party.
Adeleke mentioned communities such as Igbomina, Ijeshaland, Ifeland, Osogbo, Iwoland, Modakeke, Gbongan, Igbajo, Ikire, Ikirun, and Ede as key areas expected to rally behind the new platform.
