Actor Taye Arimoro has been suspended indefinitely from participating in any film production in Nigeria
This follows a heated on-set confrontation with actress and producer Peggy Ovire during the shooting of the film Pieces of Love on November, 12, 2025.

The decision was jointly announced by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), and the Association of Movie Producers (AMP)
This was after a coordinated investigation concluded that Arimoro was the primary aggressor in the incident.
This is the official statement signed by AGN National President Dr Emeka Rollas, DGN President Mr Uche Agbo, and AMP President Amb. Dr Queen Blessing Ebigieson.
However, the guilds revealed that Taiye Arimoro physically assaulted both the production manager and a driver during filming.
The situation worsened when Arimoro went live on social media.
He broadcasted what the guilds described as a false, misleading, and damaging account of events.
This is one that wrongly implicated Peggy Ovire, who was reportedly not present at the start of the altercation.
According to the statement, “The Director, Production Manager, and crew were not culpable in any wrongdoing.” The guilds emphasised that Arimoro’s version of events misrepresented the truth and fuelled unnecessary controversy within the industry.
Sanctions And Mandatory Actions
As part of the disciplinary measures, Arimoro has been ordered to issue a public apology on the same social media platform where he posted the controversial live video.
The apology must be directed to the production manager, Peggy Ovire, and the film’s director, Frederick Atigogo.
He has also been instructed to release a corrective video clearly outlining the accurate sequence of events.
Furthermore, Taye Arimoro must return to the Pieces of Love set under strict supervision.
This is to complete his remaining two scenes and comply with any additional sanctions imposed by the guilds.
Reprimand for Peggy Ovire
Although Peggy Ovire was cleared of initiating the conflict, she did not escape reprimand.
The guilds noted that she escalated matters by pursuing Arimoro outside the filming compound.
As a result, she has been instructed to submit written apologies to the guilds and to the estate management.

Industry-Wide Warning
The AGN, DGN, and AMP used the ruling to reinforce their zero-tolerance stance on violence, harassment, intimidation, and any form of unprofessional behaviour on Nollywood sets.
