HBO has announced that WIZKID: LONG LIVE LAGOS will premiere on 11 December 2025.
This offers fans a detailed look into the life and global rise of Nigerian superstar Wizkid.
The documentary is scheduled to air on HBO and stream on HBO Max from 9:00 p.m. to 10:25 p.m. ET/PT, as part of the award-winning Music Box documentary series.
Directed by Karam Gill and executive produced by Bill Simmons, the film traces Wizkid’s evolution from his early days in Lagos to becoming one of the most influential figures in modern African music.
Also, it highlights how his sound, artistry, and global achievements helped reshape perceptions of African musicians and elevated Afrobeats to new international heights.
A standout segment of the film focuses on Wizkid’s groundbreaking performance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

The documentary also features contributions from individuals who have played major roles in his life and career.
This includes his manager and partner Jada Pollock, Afrobeat legend Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, and media personality Julie Adenuga.

It is produced by HBO Documentary Films in collaboration with Ringer Films, Macro, and MGX Creative.
