Government Ownership Confirmed

“Airport properties were excluded from past sales because of their vital role in aviation security,” he explained.

Moreover, the Federal Executive Council issued a new memo reaffirming that the government will retain full control over FAAN properties.

Essential Staff And Security

“President has directed these critical facilities must never transfer to private individuals,” Keyamo emphasised firmly.

He added that essential staff, such as firefighters, security personnel, and technical experts, must live nearby.

This proximity allows them to respond swiftly to emergencies, ensuring safety and operational readiness at all airports.

Furthermore, he warned that private ownership in airport zones could compromise security and disrupt aviation operations.

FAAN Enforcement And Public Warning

FAAN echoed Keyamo’s position, pledging to actively safeguard all properties under its management.

Additionally, the Authority cautioned that it will prosecute anyone making false ownership claims.

Therefore, staff and the public should disregard any purported sale documents, which carry no legal weight.

“Our responsibility is protecting safety, efficiency, and integrity across all Nigerian airports,” FAAN management concluded.

By clarifying ownership rules, the government aims to prevent disputes and strengthen the nation’s aviation infrastructure.
