From late September to October 2025, both films captivated cinema-goers nationwide, boosting Nollywood’s commercial strength and cultural reach.
Gingerrr Takes The Lead
Gingerrr, directed by Yemi Morafa, opened with ₦82.8 million and now totals ₦435.5 million across the country.
Its vibrant cast — Bisola Aiyeola, Bimbo Ademoye, and Timini Egbuson — blended comedy and action, drawing young viewers in large numbers.
Cinema Day on November 1, 2025 further propelled Gingerrr, increasing attendance despite ticket prices doubling to ₦2,000.
The film topped single-day ticket sales nationwide, surpassing international hits like Deadpool & Wolverine and The Equalizer 3.
The Herd Builds Momentum
The Herd, directed by Etim Effiong, opened on October 17 and earned ₦137.7 million in three weeks.

Trons: Ares earned ₦13.8 million in its third week, reaching ₦107.7 million, while Idia grossed ₦7.4 million for a total of ₦18 million.
New release, ‘Regretting You’ opened with ₦4.4 million, and Blackphone 2 added ₦3.8 million, reaching ₦23.8 million.
With Gingerrr and The Herd leading the charge, 2025 is shaping up as one of Nollywood’s most successful box office years, proving local films continue to captivate audiences.
