Nigerian singer and songwriter, Seyi Shay, has revealed that she is not married to the father of her daughter, despite maintaining a close and respectful relationship with him.
Speaking during an interview on With Chude, the award-winning artiste addressed long-standing speculations about her marital status and clarified the dynamics of her family life.
“My daughter’s dad is Nigerian, from Nigeria. We are not married — it’s a technical issue,” she explained.

She noted that although they live in different countries, they share a healthy bond and remain committed to co-parenting their child.
“He’s great. He’s in the UK at the moment and he’s also in the music industry, on the corporate side of things. We work well together raising our child and we are great friends,” she said.
The “Right Now” crooner welcomed her daughter in 2022, has often spoken about how motherhood has changed her outlook on life and career.
