Actress and entrepreneur, Temi Otedola, has spoken out on her decision to take her husband’s surname following her marriage to Afrobeats singer, Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi.
Temi Otedola officially adopted her husband’s surname, becoming Temiloluwa Ajibade.

The move, however, sparked mixed reactions online, with many critics questioning why she chose to let go of the influential Otedola name that had long shaped her public identity.
In an interview with BBC on Wednesday, Temi described the decision as personal and deliberate.
“I’m now a married woman, and the obvious thing for me was to take my husband’s name. But it’s my decision, and I respect that every woman has the right to choose,” she stated.
She further explained that keeping her relationship private has helped her control her public image.
“Moving in silence allows you to build your own story and share it when you’re ready.”
Speaking on her father’s newly released memoir, Temi Otedola noted that the book offers rare insight into his decades-long entrepreneurial journey.
Also, he praised his resilience.
He added that his decision not to directly involve his children in his businesses encouraged them to chart their own paths.
“At first I was disappointed, but it turned out to be a blessing. It encouraged us to create our own way,” she said.
Temi also acknowledged her privileged upbringing, stressing the importance of being honest about it. “Oh, absolutely.
