Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has taken a firm stand against circulating rumours about her health by publicly addressing claims regarding her HIV status.
The controversy began after a content creator, Olaoluwa Segun, released a video alleging that Amusa, alongside four other Nigerian actors, was living with the virus.

The actress swiftly dismissed the claims.
She branded them as false, malicious, and damaging to her reputation.
Dayo Amusa recalled that back in 2019, she had already shared proof of her HIV-negative status during a public awareness campaign.
She encourages Nigerians to prioritise their health.
Also, she explained that her earlier post was strictly to advocate for regular testing, not to suggest that she was infected.
Taking her response a step further, the actress threatened legal action against the content creator for spreading unverified and harmful information.
To further silence the speculations, she posted a fresh HIV test result on her Instagram page on Tuesday, which once again confirmed she is free of the virus.
Beyond setting the record straight, Dayo Amusa used the opportunity to promote health consciousness.
Also, she urges fans and Nigerians at large to make HIV testing a routine part of their medical check-ups.
Quoting her own caption, she wrote:
“I still feel the need to encourage individuals to get tested and know their HIV status. It is better to know your status so that you can guide yourself and save others too.”
Also, her action has sparked discussions online about the importance of combating stigma.
