Air Peace Adds Fourth Boeing 777 To Drive Global Growth

Air Peace has taken delivery of its fourth Boeing 777-200ER, reinforcing its ambition to dominate long-haul operations and accelerate international growth.

On  August 22, 2025, the aircraft, registered 5N-CEG, landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, after a flight from Teruel, Spain.

Fire trucks showered it with a water-cannon salute as Chairman Dr Allen Onyema led senior executives and staff to welcome the jet.

Comfort And Capacity

Inside, the wide-body aircraft seats 312 passengers, including 26 in business class and 286 in economy.

Business travellers can enjoy private, spacious seating, while economy passengers benefit from generous legroom and modern inflight amenities.

Airline spokesperson Efe Osifo-Whiskey explained that the addition directly supports Air Peace’s mission to link Nigeria with the world.

Bold Expansion Plans

Speaking to newsmen, Dr Onyema called the new Boeing 777 “a pivotal milestone” in the airline’s growth story.

He revealed that within two months, Air Peace will deploy the aircraft on inaugural long-haul flights from Abuja to London Heathrow and Gatwick.

Furthermore, he confirmed plans to open routes into major European cities, expand into South America with direct flights to São Paulo, and strengthen Caribbean connections after launching services to Antigua, Barbuda, and St Kitts and Nevis.

Beyond route expansion, Dr Onyema stressed Air Peace’s determination to break the cycle of inflated fares imposed by foreign carriers.

He urged Nigeria to establish an efficient hub system to improve both regional and international connectivity.

Finally, Dr Onyema thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for policies that empower local airlines and commended Aviation Minister Senator Festus Keyamo for initiatives that allow Nigerian carriers to compete globally.

With this fourth Boeing 777, Air Peace continues to push boundaries—expanding its fleet, lowering barriers for travellers, and positioning Nigeria more firmly on the global aviation map.
