Xavi has backed Barcelona to beat Real Madrid in the Supercopa final, after claiming that his side deserved to win in their last meeting.
Barcelona dispatched Osasuna in the Supercopa semi-final on Thursday, sealing a comfortable 2-0 win.
The victory sets up a rematch of last year’s final, where the Blaugrana beat Los Blancos, 3-1.
After the game, Xavi backed his side to grab their first silverware of the season: “I think that in the league Clasico, we dominated most of the match.
“I can compare it to last season’s final.
“Also, I think that we can dominate them and win.”
The last time the two sides met, Madrid executed an impressive second-half comeback, with a Jude Bellingham brace sealing a 2-1 away win.
Barca have struggled since then, and found themselves seven points behind Los Blancos in the title race.
